I was spouting on Twitter about how much I love how Franquin draws clothing and handles fashion. I figure you guys should check out a few more here.
Franquin was always well known for culturally dating his work. He was a big proponent of using fashion magazines, furniture catalogues, advertisements, etc as reference for including real life indicators in comic work. I always loved seeing cars and clothing interpreted by Franquin bc they always looked very slickly Franquin while at the same time they really looked like they occupied a time and space in their respective comics.
